SAIC WELLNESS CENTER / CONNECT THE DOTS
Wellness Center School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Chicago, Illinois
March 31 – April 28
Connect The Dots features a collection of work by artists and mentors and invited a dialogue about vision, doubling, and a relationship between self and others. The show highlighted the compelling works of artists from NIAD Art Center and Arts of Life, and was presented in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Wellness Center. SAIC Advisor Alex Stark, artist and curator, whose work was also on view, and who balances his roles, advanced the themes of access and connection for students and learners. Further connection was illuminated by works from artists and mentors Josh Dihle, Mari Eastman, Peter Fagundo, Richard Hull and William J. O’Brien. In combination, the featured works were a reminder that art is a way to express, connect, and inspire. Connect The Dots was an invitation to relate colorful, revealing mark making from various backgrounds and experiences that highlighted shared imaginative potential.
